Developer Improbable has been hard at work on their upcoming PvEvP survival shooter Scavengers, and they’re just about ready to let you dive into the Early Access version of the game for PC. Even better, it’s probably a lot sooner than you think, with things kicking off tomorrow, April 28 – with a catch.
When Scavengers‘ Early Access launches tomorrow, players won’t immediately be able to simply download and play it in this early state. Improbable has collaborated with Twitch for drops that will only be accessible during specific streams of the game, therefore snatching a code will require a handful of extra steps.
- For starters, you’ll need to create an Improbable account and link it with your Twitch account.
- Secondly, you’ll have to watch at least 30 minutes of Scavengers streams.
- Lastly, after you get your hands on the Twitch Drop, you’ll need to check your email for a Steam Key so you can begin playing.
Although it’s definitely a little more complicated than just getting easy and free access, those who have been awaiting an opportunity play Scavengers shouldn’t find these tasks terribly inconvenient if it means they can start things up before everyone else.
Scavengers is planned to leave Early Access and reach its full release on PC by the end of the year. PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of the game are planned, too.
