Ember Lab has announced that their upcoming action-adventure title Kena: Bridge of Spirits has been delayed by a month. It’s now scheduled to launch on September 21.
In a tweet posted Wednesday, the studio announced that they would be taking time to “polish the game across all platforms.” The statement went on to say:
The team has been working extremely hard and we feel the extra time is critical to ensure the best experience possible. We know many of you are eager to play and we appreciate your patience as the team continues to work on delivering the best version of Kena.Ember Lab
Originally intended to release within the PlayStation 5’s launch window, Kena: Bridge of Spirits suffered its first setback when it was delayed to Q1 2021, largely due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, it would go on to miss that window and eventually receive an August 24 release date. Luckily for fans eagerly anticipating getting their hands on the game, this new delay will only prolong the wait by a handful of weeks – and we all know a delayed game is better than an unpolished one.
Kena: Bridge of Spirits will be available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC when it launches next month, and for most excited gamers, there’s not a whole lot Ember Lab could do to make the wait for feel anything less than totally worth it. The game’s gorgeous Pixar-esque visuals, adorable creatures, likeable heroine, and entrancing combat appear to all be setting it up to make one hell of a splash. And for PS5 owners, that splash will ripple into the DualSense controller, as the game takes full advantage of haptic feedback and adaptive triggers to immerse players fully in the adventure.
If you’re still somehow on the fence about this incredible-looking game, though, keep your eyes peeled for our review upon release.
