Developer 24 Entertainment’s long-awaited battle royale title Naraka: Bladepoint will be coming to PC via Steam and Epic Games Store next Thursday, July 12. However, the studio recently shared some more exciting news – the game will also be releasing on consoles at a later date.
The news of Naraka: Bladepoint‘s eventual console release was teased with a short playthrough of the game’s tutorial running on a PlayStation 5 (seen below). And while 24 Entertainment has not yet revealed all of the platforms on which we’ll see the battle royale mayhem unfold, they did promise in a recent statement that they are “working on multiple console versions at this time.” We’ll just have to keep waiting to see if last-gen PlayStation enthusiasts and Xbox fans will get a chance to dive in, too.
If Naraka: Bladepoint hasn’t made its way onto your radar yet, you may want to look into its unique 60-player battle royale gameplay. Unlike most games in the genre, this showdown is largely melee-focused, having players wield swords to fell their opponents and use grappling hooks to maneuver around the battlefield. Whether you’re a fan of battle royales, enjoy the beautiful Chinese aesthetic, or simply want to slice and dice Sekiro style, this one has you covered.
If you do decided to give this one a shot, you certainly won’t be alone. Interest in Naraka: Bladepoint has been through the roof since it was announced, and the final beta became the sixth most popular game on Steam by bringing in almost 140,000 players in its first 9 hours alone. That’s some pretty damn fantastic numbers and indicates that the game may have quite a long life ahead of it, especially if 24 Entertainment’s post-launch support remains as solid as their initial hard work.
You can pre-order Naraka: Bladepoint on Steam right now ahead of its launch next week. The Standard Edition is only $19.99, but you can also get some extra digital goodies if you grab the Deluxe or Ultimate Editions for $34.99 or $49.99, respectively.
